Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula or tongs

Method

  1. Prepare the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Melt the Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic!
  3. Cook the Chicken: Add the chicken to the skillet in a single layer (work in batches if necessary). Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  4. Deglaze the Pan: Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. This adds incredible flavor to the sauce.
  5. Finish with Parsley and Lemon: Stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice (if using). Cook for another minute, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Serve: Serve the garlic butter chicken bites immediately. They're fantastic on their own, over rice, or with pasta.

Notes

For best results, ensure the chicken is cut into uniform sizes for even cooking. Avoid overcrowding the pan while cooking the chicken to ensure proper browning. These bites are best served immediately for optimal taste and texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid drying out the chicken. Consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice. You can also substitute dried parsley for fresh parsley if needed, using about 1 tablespoon of dried parsley.
